Welcome to the Sullivan Okaw Valley JFL website
The Sullivan Okaw Valley JFL program is comprised of 4th - 8th graders in the Sullivan, Bethany, and Findlay communities. The SOV JFL is dedicated to creating an exciting and memorable experience for both participants and fans. Our goals are to teach the fundamentals of football, team play, good sportsmanship, and dedication.
We are a member of the Little Illini JFL League which is mostly made up of the Little Okaw Valley and Okaw Valley High School Conferences. Currently the Little Illini JFL League is 21 teams divided into 3 divisions. The league follows the IHSA rules for tackle football with some exceptions by the Little Illini JFL league officials.

SOV JFL NEWS
Sign ups are over but we will still accept players. If you know anyone that still wants to sign up please have them get a hold of any board member. We will take players all the way to the start of practice on July 30th.
Game schedules are starting to fill in. The team breakdown is as follows:
4th grade = Jr Lightweights
5th & 6th grade = Lightweights
7th & 8th grade = Heavyweights

Reminder: SOV JFL Apparel Order forms are due July 14th at equipment pick up. Also you can purchase other apparel at our team store.
Remember the Sullivan Steak Supper is June 2nd at the Sullivan American Legion. Doors open at 5pm and goes until 8pm.
The first practice will be beginning Monday July 30th at 5:30pm sharp!!!

- June 10th - JFL Board Meeting at 6pm at Sullivan Scott State Bank.
- July 8th - JFL Board Meeting at 6pm at Sullivan Scott State Bank.
- July 14th - Equipment pick up 9am-12pm at Bethany Sales Company.
- July 30th - Practice begins 5:30pm with parents meeting at Okaw Valley High School.
- August 4th - Team Pictures at 8:30am followed by the Ping Pong Ball Drop Raffle
- August 11th - Lightweight and Heavyweight teams at Arcola Jamboree.
- August 18th - First games at Villa Grove
- Sept 7th - Okaw Valley Homecoming parade 4pm.
- Sept 28 - Sullivan Homecoming parade 4pm.
- October 6th - Last games of the year vs Decatur Catholic. Also 8th grade recogination day.
Equipment you will need before practice starts
- 7 piece pad set( 2 knee, 2 thigh, 2 hip, 1 tailbone) these pads can either be the snap in kind or the kind that slip into a girdle.
- Mouthpiece - We strongly recommend that you purchase a couple of these with the strap that attaches to the facemask and have them molded.
- Cleats - We recommend with going with a mid to high top cleat for ankle support. Also make sure the player is lacing the cleat to the top and snug.
- Pants - Each player will need practice pants and game pants. Practice pants can either be white or black. Game pants must be black.
- Belt - Belts can be white, black, or red.
- Practice Jersey - We recommend going with a white practice jersey.
